The Parent & Educator Partnership (PEP)

The Parent & Educator Partnership (PEP) is an Illinois Statewide Technical Assistance Center (ISTAC) of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). The PEP project advances the ISBE's priority to improve the delivery of training and technical assistance to parents of school age children and educators. PEP services include: providing a Call-in Center for parents of students with disabilities to assist with understanding the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA); developing and supporting Parent Leadership; and assisting Local Educational Agencies (LEA) in meeting the requirements of Title 1 Section 1118 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (formerly, No Child Left Behind). To learn more about PEP delivery of services, click on About PEP.

IL Statewide Technical Assistance Center

The Illinois Statewide Technical Assistance Center (ISTAC) is the Illinois State Board of Education's model of integrated technical assistance for families and school districts. Each ISTAC project uses a coaching and support network model, focusing on building the capacity of districts through the implementation of evidence-based practices, utilizing data collection and analysis in support of data-based decision making.

PARENT MENTOR IMPACT SURVEY:

The ISBE and the Parent Mentor Project want to learn more about the experiences of parents with children who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and the impact of the services of the Parent Mentor working in your area. To take this survey online, you will need to know the name of the school district that operates the Parent Mentor Project in your area. The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete.
