WelcomeOne of the strategic commitments of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is to support communication and partnerships with educational stakeholders, which include parents of preschool and school-age children. The ISBE has a priority to improve the delivery of training and technical assistance to parents of students with disabilities. To that end, the ISBE implemented two related programs designed to increase the meaningful, effective involvement of families in the education process at the local and state levels. The two programs are: The Illinois Statewide Technical Assistance Center for ParentsThe project advances the ISBE's priority to improve the delivery of training and technical assistance to parents of students with disabilities throughout the State of Illinois by providing the Parent and Educator Partnership to both parents and educators. The ISTACP also demonstrates leadership to promote and support the Parent Mentor Project and School, Family, and Community Partnerships. (read more).
