Peggy Mueller is the Parent Mentor in District 118 and 201 located in Belleville, IL. She and her husband, Tony, are the proud parents of two sons, Dan and Joe, the youngest of whom has multiple challenges as a result of a rare seizure disorder.

Peggy has been involved in the world of special education for 17 years. For seven of those years, she worked part-time as the Parent and Family Coordinator for the Epilepsy Foundation of Southwestern Illinois.

Peggy is very excited to be a part of the Parent Mentor Grant. She has learned much while working with the school districts, but her most important mentor and educator has been her son. The life lessons she has learned from him have been far more valuable than anything ever taught.

Peggy is eager to share her experiences and knowledge with parents who are entering the world of special education.
