What is a PT3?
The PT3, created by the Prichard Committee for Academic
Excellence, Lexington, KY in 1994, is a
facilitated conversation between parents and teachers, the two
groups who know students best. Parents and teachers begin by having
structured dialogue focusing on outcomes for students. Common
priorities are discovered by addressing the following
questions:
1. What do we want for our students?
2. What do we need to do to get what we want for our
students?
Following the discussion, there is a process for identifying
common priorities and then developing an action plan.
