Illinois Branch of the International Dyslexia Association
IDA was founded in 1949 and continues the work of Dr. Samuel
Orton in the study, prevention and treatment of the specific
learning disability known as dyslexia that affects up to 20% of the
population. Formerly known as the Orton Dyslexia Society, IDA has
42 branches in the United States in addition to global partners in
Brazil, the Czech Republic, Israel, Japan and the Philippines.
