Deb and her husband have three children; two of which have IEPs. They are now freshmen in high school and college. She has experienced many phases of the special education journey from early intervention all the way to high school. Deb is currently experiencing a new chapter in this journey; her oldest transitioning into college.
Deb is co-founder and past president of a not-for-profit organization, Special Education Alliance 200 (SEA200), which helps families of children with special needs within Wheaton/Warrenville Community Unit School District 200. SEA200 was established 6 years ago with a mission to enhance the educational experience of children with special needs by bringing home, school and community together. The Parent Mentor Project is an initiative between School District 200 and SEA200.
