Merle Siefken began his career as a youth minister in Illinois. He earned his teaching credentials and an M.A. from National-Louis University. He then went on and taught middle school in Naperville Community School District 203, in Naperville, Illinois. The past seven years he has been a middle school administrator in Michigan. Merle recently completed his M.Ed in Educational Leadership from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

As a parent, Merle has become familiar with the joys, anxiety, and frustration associated with ensuring that the best education is provided for children with an IEP.
