A Workshop designed for parent leaders to coach parents of students with disabilities on the Individualized Education Program

Registration:

There is no fee for the 2-day workshop and the Parent & Educator Partnership will reimburse mileage, and provide overnight accommodations the evening of May 16 (if you live at least a hour drive from Naperville), lunch, and presentation material. 

There are four requirements for attending the workshop:

  1. Your school district currently has a Parent Leadership Agreement with the Parent & Educator Partnership.
  2. You and your district agree to work together to improve parental involvement in the IEP process.
  3. You will work with your district to implement a plan to enhance parent efficacy about the IEP process and report the progress of your plan to the Parent & Educator Partnership.
  4. You are able to stay for the duration of the 2-day training.

Registration

Print and complete the registration.  You will need a signature from a district-level administrator (Director of Special Education, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent). Fax your completed survey to our office, 630-428-4055 no later than May 1, 2013.

After your registration has been accepted, you and your district contact will receive a confirmation.  There are only 30 spots for this workshop.

  • Sue Walter, Principal Consultant, Illinois State Board of Education, Springfield, IL
  • Chris Wasik, Consultant/Coach, Project CHOICES, an Illinois State Board of Education technical assistance project
